hi! i'm puffinthefish
this is my website, though i've already said that
here's some stuff about me!

the name i go by around these parts is puffinthefish and any shortening thereof (puffin, that one's the most common, puff etc)!

i like messing around with whatever things i think are cool, so i have a *lot* of half-finished projects and believe me when i say i am not gonna be able to get through that mess of things anytime soon
some of em include
- drawing, though that's more of just a general hobby than a specific project (i have a lot of drawings!! at some point i'll have a page for them on here
- gamedev! i do that sometimes, not the best at it but i try (i have so many barely-complete prototypes send help)
- this website itself! no guarantee it'll ever be in a state i want to call finished, but i really, really want to get this more complete than most
- sometimes music! i play guitar and sometimes i mess around with that and midi instruments to try make something
and a few things more than i can remember right now! my memory's not the best, so this page is probably gonna get updated every time i remember something i forgot to put here

i like a lot of things. too many things to try to say here, so i'm just gonna write about a few

outer wilds. i cannot even explain the extent that this game has impacted me. it changed my damn brain chemistry
it's a beautiful, sometimes heartbreaking, sometimes awe-inspiring experience that deserves far more recognition than it gets
i understand it isn't for everyone, but believe me, if it *is* for you, it will be one of the best experiences in videogames that you will ever have
i can't go into specifics too much here, lest i spoil a potential player, but if unraveling the mysteries of an alien star system while listening to some of the best music to ever be in a videogame (even outside of videogames, it's some of my favourite music, period. andrew prahlow you are a genius) and going through one of the most bittersweet, heartfelt and beautiful stories in the medium, i'd say give it a shot.

it's tempting to linger in this moment, while every possibility still exists. but unless they are collapsed by an observer, they will never be more than possibilities.
the universe is, and we are.

as for some other things,
some of my favourite pieces of media right now include corru.observer, the discworld series, and the music that i like. i don't know genres just ask for song reccomendations and i'll give em
the backlog of games and books and shows is getting pretty big, so i'm gonna have a currently [thing] section somewhere in here
